JIM MORRISON: REBELLIOUS STYLE ICON

James Douglas Morrison, the infamous “Lizard King” and “Mr. Mojo Risin’,” wasn’t just the frontman of the Doors—he was rock ‘n’ roll’s wildest, most untamed beast. Dubbed everything from “leather tiger” to “Sex-death, Acid-Evangelist,” Morrison was the personification of chaos and rebellion. For many, he’s simply the ultimate bad boy of rock.

Born on December 8, 1943, in Melbourne, Florida, Morrison’s rise to fame came at a time when America was exploding with cultural upheaval. The civil rights movement and the Vietnam War were shaking up the nation, while psychedelia and rock music signaled the rise of a new counterculture. Morrison and the Doors were at the forefront of this revolution, bringing Huxley’s “The Doors of Perception” to life with a sound and style that pissed off the establishment.

His signature look—leather trousers, a matching jacket, an open shirt, and a Native American belt was the ultimate in rebellious chic.
